Yet still another reason to leave the church (this time Mormon)

November 17th, 2008

It’s still politics a-go-go with the election. I’ve already picked on the Catholics enough for now for their inappropriately getting involved in politics, child molestation scandals notwithstanding. Now it’s time to expose the Mormon church for what it is.

The mormon church pumped TWENTY MILLION dollars into the hate campaign in California. (Prop 8) Hmm.. they could have spent that on something like feeding the homeless. (You know, acting like what they say Christ acted like?)

This is a “church” that believes that non-mormons are actually worth less than any mormons. And married mormons (only married to another mormon) are worth more than unmarried mormons and can attain the highest level of heaven. They even all have separate levels of heaven. Oh, and don’t forget, men can have as many wives as they want (as long as they’re mormon.) Oh, and barren women who can’t have kids, sorry about yer luck, lady. You won’t make it. Nice knowin’ ya.

So all you baptists, catholics, presbyterians, methodists, and all other non-LDS religions, etc. out there. Sorry, you’re not going to the highest level of heaven, according to the LDS church. You might even be destined for H E double hockey sticks.

Hey! ANOTHER good reason to leave the church!!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081114/ap_on_re_us/obama_catholics_4

…COLUMBIA, S.C. – A South Carolina Roman Catholic priest has told his parishioners that they should refrain from receiving Holy Communion if they voted for Barack Obama because the Democratic president-elect supports abortion, and supporting him “constitutes material cooperation with intrinsic evil.”

This is sick, sick, sick, sick, sick, sick, sick.

Don’t move to Arkansas

November 12th, 2008

Wow, they’re racist down there!!! Looking at the NYT electoral change map, Arkansas was much more “red” than it was in 2004.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081112/ap_on_el_ge/arkansas_election_race_2

“…Arkansas remains the only state from the former Confederacy not to elect an African-American to Congress or any statewide office since Reconstruction — and last week it soundly rejected the man set to become the nation’s first black president…”

“…Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana are the only states where President-elect Obama fared worse among white voters than Kerry did in his 2004 loss…”

I called it!!

Back when Dan Rather got “fired” from CBS from his story about Bush shirking his duty in the National Guard, I had stated to some people (don’t remember who) that Dan Rather had been set-up by the right wing. People told me I was full of hooey.

Here’s the proof: It’s come out that CBS was -actually- considering using people like Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and Matt Drudge as part of the “independent” review panel that was going to investigate this report.

For those not in the know, Limbaugh, Drudge, and Coulter are some of the whackiest of the whack-jobs out there.

Politix a-go-go (might offend some)

All you conservative republicans out there, quit fretting already. The world isn’t coming to an end.

We’re not going to become commies. We didn’t become commies under Clinton and we won’t now. Everyone who is afraid of “wealth redistribution” has forgotten that we’ve been doing that all along, by taking from the poor and giving to the rich in the form of huge tax breaks for the rich. If that’s not “wealth redistribution” then I don’t know what is.

We won’t coddle terrorists. Clinton warned Bush and Bush ignored it. Bush then, despite promises to the contrary, took political advantage of it to create a new brand of Bush McCarthyism. The republicans forget that 9/11 happened on Bush’s watch and instead blame it on Clinton. After it happened, Condolleezza Rice said that nobody ever expected anyone to fly planes into the buildings. It’s been proven that PRECISELY that had already been warned about beforehand, repeatedly. Nobody that high up was actually surprised. They all expected it.

Nobody is going to force you to have an abortion. If you don’t like abortions, don’t have one. You can’t preach “small government” and “deregulation” then try to make it so that the government sticks their nose in private affairs of women.

Nobody is going to put your kids in jail for praying in school. There is still a first amendment and it’s still the most important one. Otherwise it wouldn’t be the first. Nobody is going to force you to abandon your religion, either. Horrible baby-eating atheists aren’t going to take over.

Nobody is going to take your guns away. The NRA is freaking out over nothing. Obama specifically said he wasn’t taking anyone’s guns away, period. Stop freaking, already.

There will not be a socialized health care system. We’ll have the same wonderful, efficient, cheap system (that republicans are in love with) four years from today that we have now. Private, for profit insurance companies and drug companies really are benevolent and want what’s best for us. Those guys love us so much they’re barely scraping by with little profit. Why replace what works? (yes, that was sarcasm)

There are also not going to be any sort of “reparations” demanded of you like some of you more racist white male conservatives are worried about. I heard this one lady on NPR even come out and say she was afraid of Obama winning because “those” people in the streets will be having some sort of uprising. It won’t happen. Everyone just wants to be treated equally, and we’re one big step closer. If anything, you should be LESS afraid of that sort of thing now. The only uprising was in the voting booth where it belongs.

…and last but not least.. sarah palin:

Although she’s very, very scary, with her extremist anti-abortionist, big-oil, and censorship stances, it’s not Sarah Palin’s fault that McCain lost. It’s John McCain’s for choosing her. He did so despite advice to the contrary. Had he picked LIE-berman he might have won. Republicans should quit scapegoating her to death and let her go back to Alaska with her $150,000.00 wardrobe so she can ooze back into the woodwork and hang out with her felon buddies like Ted “Internet is a series of tubes and I’m not guilty of anything” Stevens.
